Week 18

"April Showers bring May Flowers"
so they say
(who are they anyway?)
Whatever! Let's hope all the hard work in the garden will pay off over the next few weeks.

In the meantime... Happy Week 18!

Nerves

Hi all!

Please don't forget to leave a comment on this post to be in with a chance of snagging the gorgeous Sew Somerset magazine. The draw will take place on Tuesday.

It's been a rollercoaster weekend here at Mum & Dads house!

Kieran was "star of the week" at school and got a mention in the newsletter, yay!
I transferred all the upcoming events into my calender, there's a lot to look forward to. A Hog Roast, Young Voices, Art club, Football club etc. etc.

Jim drove up to join us Friday evening in anticipation of Kierans 11+ exam which took place Saturday morning. I felt sick to my stomach for him and was probably the most nervous!
Results in a month or so...... however I'm to understand they get placed not a specific pass or fail, we'll see.
He felt pretty crappy after so we all went out for a spot of retail therapy and lunch at Frankie & Benny's in Rugby.
The rest of the weekend was spent walking around the village and helping Mum & Dad with a pre move sort out.

I'll leave you with a few photos taken over the last few days :)

These last 3 taken with the Olloclip Macro, the B&W woodlouse shots taken by Kieran.

Distress and In My Postbox!

Hi all!
Please don't forget to leave a comment on my previous post to be in with a chance of snagging the gorgeous Sew Somerset magazine.

It's been a lovely day here, I hope you're getting some lovely sunshine too!
So first up is yesterdays #FMSphotoadaySEPT, the prompt being In My Postbox.
Well as you may know Kieran and myself are "bunking" at my parents as he started his new school this week, fingers crossed we'll be in our new home within a few weeks.
So the point being my parents postbox is what I have to play with here.
Having a bit of fun with this one, this arrived in their post (I kid you not!)

A Saga Brochure - Childish *snigger*

I will post a better photo and some details on THE distressed chair at some point but here's a wee shot

And finally for today a quick shot of a young buddleia plant with the olloclip macro lens.
I love the fact that only after I focused, did I spot the weeny fly!!!
This proves that either the lens is the absolute best and/or I'm blind as a bat...

Path & Fresh!

Just a quick post from my Mum and Dads house :)
Fridays #photoadayaug was "path"
Mum and Dads garden path

and Saturdays prompt word was "fresh"
I was showing off my new Olloclip to Dad around the garden just after we'd had a short rain shower so I chose one of the photos from the shoot for my shot.

No photos of me or any other members of my family on the bronco from Friday night!!!
Indoor shots aren't my forte but here's one of Kieran showing his sweet buffet haul to Grandma and Grandpa!

and one of the table Candelabra. The marquee looked amazing in Black & Lime Green

We're heading home today, only a week until we're back and Kieran starts school!
Better get those name tapes out!!!

Take care

Cool

Cool was yesterdays #photadayaug and here is my current interpretation of this word :)
The coolest gadget ever! It's an Olloclip, made for the iphone4 and iphone4s.
It has a wide angle lens, a fish eye and a macro.
Clip on, clip off, keep in your pocket or the ditsy bag it comes with :)
I purchased mine from Amazon and it's around the £60 mark and it arrived yesterday.

Of course I took a couple of shots to check it out!
Also to add, none of these shots have been manipulated/cropped/altered in any way, just the lenses doing their thing!

Fish Eye Lens
(reminds me of those wonky mirrors at the fair!)

Without Wide Angle (before)

With Wide Angle (after)

and finally Macro
(think this is gonna be my fave!)

Sea Pink

Dandelion Seed Head

Poppy Seed Head

Hollyhock Seed Head

I'm in heaven!
Thank you Olloclip, you clever people :)
